Select your motorcycle brand for ECU remapping
Your motorcycle has more to offer than what the manufacturer allows you to use. To comply with global regulations, standardize model ranges, or simplify maintenance, manufacturers deliberately limit the factory engine mapping. The result? Jerky throttle response, unstable idling, overly aggressive engine braking, and horsepower left hidden inside your ECU.
Motorcycle engine remapping changes all of that. By rewriting the fuel injection and ignition maps, our technicians transform your engine's behavior: sharper throttle response, earlier available torque, smoother riding, and more enjoyment every time you accelerate. Whether you ride a naked bike, sportbike, adventure bike, cruiser, or maxi-scooter, RS-Tronic develops a custom engine calibration, validated on a dynamometer.
Motorcycle engine remapping, also known as ECU tuning or engine calibration optimization, consists of modifying the software of the Engine Control Unit (ECU) that manages your engine. This purely software-based intervention precisely adjusts the engine's operating parameters to unlock the true potential of your machine, without replacing any mechanical components at the basic stage. The principle is the same as car engine remapping or truck engine remapping, but motorcycles have their own specific requirements, including rideability, throttle smoothness, and heat management.
Unlike a simple diagnostic scan, a genuine engine remapping process rewrites the engine's reference tables to eliminate factory limitations and unlock performance. It is the most effective solution to improve riding pleasure and bring out your motorcycle's full character.
The tangible benefits
Depending on your motorcycle, your riding style, and your expectations, RS-Tronic offers several levels of intervention. From a simple improvement in riding pleasure to more advanced performance tuning, including ethanol conversion, discover the options available for two-wheel vehicles.
Stage 1 is the most requested intervention and the one we recommend as a priority. Fully software-based, it modifies your ECU's original mapping without replacing any mechanical components. We read and save your factory map, then install a custom file specifically adapted to your exact motorcycle model.
On motorcycles, Stage 1 provides additional torque and power, but above all transforms the engine's behavior: elimination of jerky throttle response, sharper throttle feel, stabilized idle speed, and smoother engine braking. It is the ideal optimization for everyday road use.
Stage 2 combines software remapping with hardware modifications that unlock even more of your engine's potential. It is designed for riders who have installed (or want to install) performance upgrades: Full exhaust system or sport muffler, high-performance air filter or intake kit, removal of intake/exhaust restrictions and flaps
The engine map is then fully recalibrated to take these new components into account, ensuring perfect fueling and allowing the installed parts to perform at their full potential. Without this remapping, an exhaust system alone can disrupt the air-fuel mixture and generate faults.
For compatible motorcycles, RS-Tronic offers Superethanol-E85 conversion. This engine remapping adapts the fuel injection map to allow your engine to run on this much more economical fuel — around €0.75 to €0.80/litre in 2026, compared with nearly €1.70/litre for SP95 petrol.
Beyond fuel savings, ethanol has a high octane rating that can also improve performance.
RS-Tronic supports almost all motorcycle brands and scooters on the market, across all types of engines. Our technicians adapt the ECU mapping to the specific characteristics of each engine, whether it is a twin-cylinder, four-cylinder, or single-cylinder engine.
Among the brands covered: Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, BMW Motorrad, Ducati, KTM, Triumph, Aprilia, Harley-Davidson, and many more.
Entrusting your motorcycle to an RS-Tronic centre means benefiting from a custom-developed engine map, validated on a dyno and carried out by technicians who understand the specific requirements of two-wheel vehicles. Our network covers the entire country, so you can find a centre near you for the diagnosis, remapping, and follow-up of your motorcycle.
Yes. We systematically save the original engine map. You can return to the factory settings at any time, particularly for resale or a visit to a dealership. Free of charge for a period of 5 years.
No, engine remapping already provides benefits on a stock motorcycle (elimination of jerky throttle response, improved smoothness). However, if you install a sport exhaust system, remapping becomes essential to adjust the fueling and fully optimize the performance of your equipment.
Yes. Maxi-scooters benefit significantly from engine remapping, particularly in terms of throttle response and acceleration, which are very useful in urban traffic and on fast roads.
The price of motorcycle engine remapping starts from €490 at RS-Tronic. It varies depending on your model, the type of intervention, and your equipment. To find out the price for your motorcycle, try our online configurator.
Allow half a day for the process, including the diagnosis, engine map development, dyno testing, and road tests. You will get your motorcycle back the same day.
