RS-Tronic offers three distinct interventions that can also be combined, depending on your goal and the age of your fleet.
Stage 1 is the go-to intervention for trucks. Fully software-based, it modifies the ECU's mapping without any mechanical disassembly. We read and save your original file, then install a mapping developed specifically for your model, your engine serial number, and your stated use.
Stage 1 is reversible: the original mapping is kept on our servers and can be reinstalled at any time (resale, dealership visit, end of lease).
Stage 2 combines software remapping with hardware modifications: an adapted exhaust system, intake optimization, and sometimes replacement of turbocharging components. It is designed for specific fleets (commercial vehicle competition, event logistics, high-end recovery/breakdown services) or configurations where Stage 1 reaches its limits.
Stage 2 remains a minority option for trucks in standard operation: for most hauliers, Stage 1 already delivers the bulk of the gain.
Decarbonization is an internal engine cleaning procedure, separate from remapping but often complementary to it. On a high-mileage truck, carbon deposits build up quickly in the combustion chamber, on the valves, in the intake manifold, and on the sensors. The result: power loss, recurring AdBlue faults, black smoke, and higher fuel consumption.
Our procedure (hydrogen-based or chemical injection, depending on the model) restores the engine's internal cleanliness. Recommended before a Stage 1 on trucks with over 300,000 km or showing combustion faults: the new mapping is then applied to a sound mechanical base.
